Eagle

(An aria of one thousand years old originally from the eastern part of Taiwan)

I am an eagle high up in the sky above Dawu Mountains

I fly from my palace and soar

Down across vast forests and beautiful millet fields

And across singing creeks

Even beyond the spectacular Pacific Ocean

Returning home I watch

And see people fight and rip at each other

Oh, lying face down on the ground, alas, people

People slaying one another, as the land is ripped apart

zhōng wén fān yì ——

（ quán bù de gē shēng shì yǒng tàn ér fēi yǔ huì 。 shì tái wān dōng bù de qiān nián yǒng tàn ）；

wǒ shì dà wǔ shān tiān kōng de yì zhī lǎo yīng 。

wǒ cóng wǒ de huáng gōng chū fā ， fēi guò le

guǎng dà de sēn lín . fēi guò le měi lí de xiǎo mǐ tián

fēi guò huì chàng gē de xī liú

wǒ yì zhí fēi ， fēi dào le zhuàng kuò de tài píng yáng shàng 。

wǒ cóng nà biān zhé fǎn fǔ shì dà dì kàn dào hù xiāng dòu ōu 、 sī liè

pú dǎo zài dì shàng de rén mén ！ a . wō ！ rén mén a ！

hù xiāng sī liè de rén mén a ！..... a ！.... sī liè de dà dì ..。
